About

Our ethos is fun, fitness and friendship, in whatever order you like!

Egerton Running and Cycling Club originally began in 2009 as Greensand Way Joggers. We started with meeting for a run on Sunday mornings. The group has grown and gradually developed and now has a home at Egerton Sports Pavilion in the heart of the village. For a small club (about 60 members) we have a full fitness calendar Activities Menuwith regular runs, cycle rides and other fitness activities throughout the week including Circuit sessions and yoga.

We go to local running meets (anything from 5K to ultra-marathons) and support each other in training for these events. We have completed challenges such as The Dirty Dash, "It's-a- Knockout"  and innumerable charity cycle rides. We also run regular Couch to 5K programs for new or returning runners.

We have three England Athletics qualified coaches (CiRF) and a Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) Coaches are qualified to support people of all abilities, are DBS checked and qualified in First Aid for Sport.

We have a growing cycling membership and have completed innumerable sportives, challenges and races (Coast to Coast, Prudential 100, Castles 100 etc)

We give a friendly welcome to new members who are welcome to join us for a couple of sessions prior to committing to membership. If you would rather come along and chat about the club to see if it will be a good fit for you, please pop along to any of our regular sessions.
